Dear Members,

on the 31 of October, 2016 we sent out a general email to all members, this was the first time ever using this type/style of emailing. The email was set to be delivered once and only once to each member, however an error occurred and the same email was sent repeatedly to about 70 members.

Our software personnel advised that the error occurred from the hosting side, nevertheless we are the ones responsible for sending the email and we take full responsibility for this. We sincerely apologize to all member who were affected by this unfortunate occurrence, please forgive us.

We are working to fix the error expeditiously, as stated before this is the first time we are using this particular type/style of emailing.

  • It does no harm for members to be reminded occasionally to register received cards if not on the day of receipt then as soon as is possible.
When a member has taken the trouble to match a card to the likes of the recipient, write the card and pay the postage it is ill-mannered and thoughtless not to register the card.

  • While I appreciate the email reminder as it’s always frustrating when folks don’t register their cards, I’ve received the email SIX times–my email provider is now marking it as Spam. As it is, I’ve had so many problems negotiating this site that this is kind of the last straw for me.

  • Pls stop sending out this email, you are spamming us.
Yes I am inactive, but it’s depends on that when I am asking for addresses I don’t get any. And I register all cards I got as soon as I see them in my mailbox.

  • Can you please stop sending out these mails? The last 10 were enough and I am an active member. I am getting really annoyed by the number of mails I am getting every day now…

  • I would really appreciate it if you could stop sending this message. I have received that email at least 10-12 times now and I’m really annoyed. I register every postcard I get. If it has not be registered, it is because I have not received it yet. I also have sent a lot more cards than I have received, which I don’t think is normal. Whatever is happening, it is not only the “inactive” members creating it.

  • YES! Why are we receiving the email so many times? Unfortunately the ones who do not follow the rules of sending and registering cards make it bad for the ones who really want to use this service for what it is intended for. I have received some wonderful cards and always register as soon as I receive them. I have so many expired cards that I stopped sending out cards. It’s expensive to send over seas just to have people NOT register their cards. If you do not want to participate, close your account so the rest of us can still enjoy this service. Thank you PostCard United for your service. Please stop sending the email to those who are active. Spam the ones who are inactive, maybe they will reply. If not, if you are inactive for a certain amount of days/months your account should be automatically closed. Just my thoughts!

  • Hope you get this email glitch sorted out soon. However, it is easy enough to delete the excess emails from my mailbox. 😀😀 Great postcard exchange site.

  • I have stopped sending so many postcards because i have 30 expired postcards i belong to another site i have belong to longer and only have 4 expired postcards and i can’t belive that many get lost in the post

  • Hi guys,

What’s going on ? So much complaining ? Expired cards ( big problem for me too ..24 :.((( ),
inactive members, unwanted multiple e mails …. very frustrating …. hope it will be sorting out soon!(So please, please register your received cards , sending cards nowadays has become very expensive !)
But don’t let that all spoil our joy with this project ..
I still love sending and receiving postcards .
and I thank everybody who has send me a postcard . it’s always nice to find one in my mailbox !!
Wish you all a very nice weekend !

  • come on guys! They have explained and apologized for it so what’s the point of still attacking them! It makes sence to send the email to EVERY member of this site, ever thought of how much time it takes to sort out who is and who is not following the rules, one by one? That’s why the general email isinvented… And that some people received the mail several times – yes, so did I-, so what?? nobody is perfect, right? just push the delete button…
Give them a break.. And if you can’t and you know better, then why not give them a hand managing this site.
Enjoy, be happy, and send a SMILE!

  • I have received more than 20 times today. I think it’s not a difficult issue in this network world. Contact the host admin, google admin, or disable the account. Just try any kind of possible solution because the situation is last more than one week.

  • Hi,

I have received masses and masses of these messages and still receiving them today. I am more than upset. I am quite ill and this is not helping having to constantly get rid of the messages. I have emailed you about it and still you do nothing. I will never use this site again. I will take the trouble to register any cards on route as that is only fair to the sender but that is all. I have always registered cards I have received which is more than I can say about cards I have sent.

  • I did write in support of of PU reminding people to register cards but I have received the e-mail three times in two days, plus all the there times. Surely in this day and age it is not too difficult to stop these nuisance e-mails, mine are also going into my junk mail where they belong. If I get more I will be closing my account.
The other problem is why do I get no answers to questions? I have asked twice why there is no way we can print addresses but have been ignored. If we are to register cards can you also answer members’ questions.

  • do you have any other “send address” for me? It seems it keeps on generating CHINA. LOL I dont have against CHINA or TAIWAN but please there are other countries to choose from. just sayin

  • I too think that there is a bug in algorythm on your site. I sent 7 cards but received the ninth today. I don’t think it’s fair 🙂

Admin Note: there’s no bug in the system additionally some members don’t get enough postcards back on time it’s a problem, now receiving too much too fast is a problem, is everything going to be a problem? It’s going to be too much at some stage.
